Paper
and Its Necessities Of Civilization:
Paper is one of
the necessities of civilization, and it
is impossible to imagine the continuance
of world without newspaper and printed
books. Paper is the basic material for
communication . As human memory is limited
to accumulate wealth of information and
knowledge and the Aryans settled in North
India started using 'Tamrpatra' (copper
plates) Toda patra, Loh patra etc. They
also started the art of carving on stones
inside and outside the caves and carving
on trunks of big trees by cutting flat
surfaces .
Egyptians
used a plant called 'papyrus' as a writing
material, from which the word paper originated.
But the art of paper making was first
discovered in China in and around 2nd
century B.C.
Paper is manufactured by two processes:-
Hand made paper.
Machine made paper.
Paper
pulp is made by two processes :-
By mechanical process.
By chemical process.
Paper
and board are of two types :-
M.G. (Machine glazed )paper or board.
M.F. (Machine finished) paper or board.
